New team member: Ruchira Somaweera

Welcome to Ruchira Somaweera, a new ECE team postdoctoral fellow

Ruchira Somaweera has joined the Ecosystem Change Ecology team as a CSIRO Postdoctoral Fellow.  Ruchira takes up a position delivering against a project funded by the Northern NESP hub entitled “Guidelines for the management of threats to savanna riparian zones.” In this project we will be focusing on providing insight to improve the management of weed threats on native biodiversity values.

Ruchira joins the group after a stint with the environmental consulting company Biologic in Perth, Western Australia, and a PhD undertaken in Prof Rick Shine’s lab at the University of Sydney.  You can read more about Ruchira’s research here and find his publications here.
